The Landauer magneto-conductance formula — •Assia Abdellaoui1,2 and Farid Benamira11Departement de Physique, Universite Mentouri-Constantine, Constantine, Algerie — 2I. Institut of Theoretical Physics, Hamburg University, Hamburg, Germany

Following the work of Benamira [1],[2] which presents a new linear response theory approach to transport in mesoscopic systems, we derive a new and general linear master equation for the density operator including the influence of an arbitrary magnetic field. The conductor is treated as a scattering object characterized by its transmission and reflection probabilities. Our approach is based on Landauer’s approach which defines the conductance of a mesoscopic scatterer as the ratio between the current emitted by the source reservoir and the induced electrochemical difference between the boundaries of the sample [3],[4]. Using the resulting master equation, we derive a generalized multi-channel magneto-conductance formula.
