In metal particles of nanometer size it is possible to excite localized collective excitations of the electron gas, so-called Mie-plasmons. In a recent publication, A. Liebsch predicts that under certain conditions the plasmon dephasing time at off-resonance excitation can be longer than on resonance due to the wavelength dependence of radiation damping [1]. Using time-resolved 2PPE we investigated these kinds of excitations in elliptically shaped silver nano-particles under resonant and off-resonant conditions. First results confirming Liebsch’s theory will be shown.
