Influence of the grain boundary network on the critical current of YBa2Cu3O7 films grown on RABiTS substrates — •Laura Fernández G.R., Bernhard Holzapfel, Sarma Vadlamani, Jens Hänisch, and Ludwig Schultz — Helmholtzstr. 20, 01069 Dresden

YBa2Cu3O7/YSZ/CeO2 heterostructures have been grown epitaxially on biaxially textured Ni and Ni alloy substrates by pulsed laser deposition. The grain boundary network of these samples reduces the critical current density Jc when compared with the critical current density obtained for films grown on single crystalline substrates. It was found that the limitation of Jc can be reduced using RABiTS substrates with better texture. Transport measurements on coated conductor samples at different temperatures and magnetic fields have shown the presence of a crossover magnetic field between intergrain and intragrain critical current, which is shifted to lower values with improvement in the substrate texture quality.
