Simple model of a nonlinear bath at finite temperatures — •Hanno Gassmann and Christoph Bruder — Departement Physik und Astronomie Universität Basel

We discuss a model of a spin subject to an environment which consists of a single two-level system coupled to an oscillator bath. In a recent work the limit of coupling to a classical noise force (infinite temperature) was studied. These results are extended to finite temperatures. We analyze the decay of the equilibrium correlator of the spin. To study the effects of this simple nonlinear bath at finite temperatures, a linear bath with the appropriate colored noise correlations is substituted for the nonlinear bath.
