Interaction effects in electostatically coupled quantum wires — •Bernhard Stojetz, Werner Wegscheider, and Christoph Strunk — Institut fuer Experimentelle und Angewandte Physik, Universitaetsstr. 31, 93040 Regensburg

We present experimental studies of electron-electron-interaction effects in electrostatically coupled quantum wires of different lengths. The wires are defined by split gates in a GaAs/AlGaAs-heterostructure. Measurements were done in a Coulomb-drag-configuration, i.e. current was sent through one wire while the drag voltage due to interwire electron-electron scattering was measured on the other. In this setup Luttinger liquid behavior of the electrons is predicted for the temperature, voltage and length dependence of the drag resistance. First measurement results are presented and interpreted in terms of the existing theories.
