Enhanced Critical Current Densities in Ferromagnetic-Superconducting Bilayers — •Soltan Soltan, Joachim Albrecht, Georg Cristiani, and Hanns-Ulrich Habermeier — Max-Planck-Institut fuer Festkoerperforschung, Heisenbergstr.1, 70569 Stuttgart

We produced epitaxial bilayers of ferromagnetic (FM) and superconducting (SC) films on SrTiO3 (100) single crystal substrate using pulsed laser deposition technique. For the FM layer we used the perovskite - based materials La2/3Ca1/3MnO3 and SrRuO3 which we covered by thin YBa2Cu3O7 films. Measuring the critical current of the superconducting film by using transport and magneto - optical methods, we find a significant increase in the critical current density in for both of the FM layers, if the ferromagnetic layer is in the magnetized state.
