The theory of angular momentum offers two crucial advantages for the treatment of quantum many–particle systems: (i) the definition of rather a small number of standard quantities and (ii) a very elegant and powerful calculus which help simplify and evaluate sophisticated expressions. Owing to these advantages, the techniques from this theory (sometimes known also as Racah algebra techniques) have been utilized in a large number of applications and in quite different fields of many–particle physics [1].

To facilitate the application of this theory for a wide range of atomic and molecular (structure and collision) systems, we have developed the Racah program [2] during the last years which, within the framework of Maple, facilitates both the simplification of complex expression as well as numerical computations. Here, we discuss a number of recent extensions to the Racah program where, in particular, a large set of new symbols and functions were incorporated in addition.
