We plan an experimental study of η-mesic states in light nuclei by using the (d,³He) transfer reaction on ⁷Li and ¹²C targets. The existence of the states manifests itself in peaks in the momentum spectrum of the emitted ³He nuclei which will be analysed at the GSI Fragment Separator. Presently, a first test experiment is being conducted. The experimental method and implications of the test run will be presented.
