Decay Study of Nuclei Near 100Sn. — •O. Kavatsyuk — GSI Darmstadt, Planckstr. 1, 64291 Darmstadt, Germany

Nuclei near the doubly-magic nucleus 100Sn are of great current interest due to their special single-particle structure as well as their relevance to the astrophysical rp process. At the GSI-ISOL facility, the Gamow-Teller resonance has recently been successfully identified for the β-decay of light silver and indium isotopes. We report on additional β-delayed γ and proton measurements performed at this facility in July and October 2002. The 101−105Sn isotopes were produced and investigated by using 58Ni + 50Cr fusion-evaporation reactions. An efficient suppression of the isobaric indium, cadmium, silver and palladium contaminants was achieved by applying the novel method of extracting the tin isotopes of interest from the ISOL ion-source as singly-charged sulfide ions [1]. Preliminary results from these experiments will be presented, including the secondary beam intensities reached for 101−105Sn (e.g. approximately 5 min−1 for the case of 102Sn), the corresponding production cross-sections, the β-delayed γ-ray and proton properties as well as their shell-model interpretation. Particular emphasis will be put on the cases of 101−103Sn and on a discussion of future studies of 100Sn.
