Proton-neutron correlation effects in deformed even-even nuclei — •CHARALAMPOS MOUSTAKIDIS — Institut für Theoretische Physik, Universität von Tübingen, Auf der Morgenstelle 14, D-72076 Tübingen

The BCS equations are solved for the ground states of even-even Ge isotopes with mass number A=64-76 by assuming spherical and deformed nuclear shapes. The quasiparticle mean-field is described by a deformed axially-symmetric Woods-Saxon potential and includes both isospin T=1 (pp, nn and np) and isospin T=0 (np) pair correlations. For N=Z nucleus 3264Ge a deformed BCS solution without T=1 pairs is found. For other nuclear systems there is a coexistence of a T=0 and T=1 pairs in the BCS wave function. A discussion in respect of fixing the strength of T=0 and T=1 pairing interactions is addressed. A dependence of number of like and unlike pairs in the BCS ground state on the difference between number of neutrons and protons is discussed.
