Effects of nucleon flow in heavy ion collisions have been used extensively
to investigate the equation-of-state (eos) of nuclear matter. Flow
observables are characteristic of the stiffness of the eos, but also of
the momentum dependence of the mean field, which leads to a dynamic
stiffening of the eos. It has been suggested that the effects of the eos
and the momentum dependence can be differentiated by investigating
differential flow effects, such as sideward and elliptic flow as a fuction
of centrality, rapidity and tranverse momentum. We report on detailed
investigations of these effects in a relativistic transport desription of
employing mean fields derived from different microscopic Dirac-Brueckner
calculations. It is found that these observables distinguish between such
different theories. We compare to recent experimental results, in
particular those from the FOPI collaboration.
