The relativistic three-body problem and its stability on the light front — •S. Mattiello1, M. Beyer1, T. Frederico2, and H.J. Weber3 — 1FB Physik, U Rostock, Germany — 2CTA, Sao Jose dos Campos, Brazil — 3U of Virginia, Charlottesville, USA
We present a relativistic three-body equation to study the stability of the
isolated three-body system with a zero-range force. Relativity is
implemented utilizing the light front form.
In particular we study the dependence of the system on an invariant
cut-off.
This can be understood as the limiting scale for physics beyond
“zero-range approximation” or as an effective size parameter.
The conditions of the relativistic Thomas collapse are discussed. We
investigate the possibility to describe the nucleon as a Borromean system.
