Transverse Momentum Dependence of Charmonium Suppression — •Alberto Polleri — Physik Department der Technische Universität München, D-85747 Garching, Germany — ECT, Villa Tambosi, I-38050 Villazzano (Trento), Italy

The importance of studying differential structures in particle spectra produced by heavy-ion experiments has recently become more and more evident. I will discuss the case of charmonium production and underline the necessity to examine both longitudinal and transverse momentum dependencies of the suppression pattern. I will show, in particular, that the existence of a long-lived QGP phase, modeled as a thermodinamicaly consistent quasi-particle gas, naturally explains several features of the spectra, in particular the centrality dependence of transverse momentum broadening.
