Results on the electrical performance of ATLAS SCT end-cap modules — •Maxim Titov — Institute of Physics, Freiburg University

The Semiconductor tracker (SCT) of the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN will be composed of about 4000 detector modules made of single-sided p-on-n silicon micro-strip sensors. The inner modules of the end-cap part of the SCT will consist of two sensors glued back to back, with a 40 mrad stereo angle, on a carbon support structure. The modules will be read out in binary mode by twelve custom made ABCD readout chips mounted on a double-sided hybrid, produced from a six layer copper/kapton flex. At the University of Freiburg about 250 SCT end-cap inner modules will be produced. In the talk results on the construction experience and on the electrical performance of fully assembled modules are reported. In addition, major quality control steps required during the large system manufacturing, are discussed.
