Application of the DIRAC package for studying the bound–bound transitions in hydrogen–like ions — •Andrey Surzhykov, Stephan Fritzsche, and Peter Koval — Universität Kassel, Institut für Physik, D–34132 Kassel, Germany

During recent years, the Dirac package has proved to be an efficient tool for studying the properties and dynamical behaviour of hydrogen–like ions. For relativistic ion–atom collisions, for instance, this package helped us in the detailed analysis the of x–ray radiation as emitted by high–Z projectile ions [1,2]. Here, we present an extention of the Dirac program for calculating the properties of the bound–bound transitions in hydrogen–like systems. In particular, the new Maple procedures support the symbolic as well as numerical computations of a whole variety of transition properties including energy levels, decay rates, angular distributions, polarization of characteristic radiation, and others.
