We performed detailed electrical transport, SQUID and ESR measurements on three new synthesized organic conductors based on the (BEDT-TTF) donor and (B12H12)−2 anions. From the ESR line width (1.7, 13, 45 Gauss) and the conductivity measurements it is clear that three different phases were obtained by electrochemical crystallization. The structure of one phase could be solved yet giving a stoichiometry of (BEDT-TTF)2(B12H12)(CH2Cl2). The unit cell is triclinic with P-1 symmetry and the lattice constants are: 8.296Å, 11.498Å, 12.386Å, 72.73, 85.93, 82.09. Electronically this material is 1:1 salt (donor (+2) acceptor (-2) ratio),the dc conductivity at room temperature equlas 0.004 (Ω cm)−1. The three phases show semiconducting behaviour with relatively small energy gaps. ESR, SQUID and dc resistivity measurements will be discussed.
