Geometrical characterization of primary vacuum standard based on digital non-rotating piston manometer with conical gap in Czech metrology institute — •Jiri Tesar1, Dominik Prazak1, Zdenek Krajicek1, and Petr Repa21Czech Metrology Institute, department of the primary pressure metrology; Okruzni 31, 638 00 Brno, Czech Republic — 2Charles University, Faculty of Mathematics and Physics; V Holesovickach 2, 180 00 Praha 8, Czech Republic

The pressure and vacuum department of CMI performed geometrical traceability of its conical piston-cylinder unit of the vacuum standard DHI FPG 8601. At first the profile of the conical cylinder was measured. From those measurements five parts of the cylinder were selected: strain part above top maximum A, conical part between top maximum A and top minimum B, lubrication section, conical part between bottom minimum C and bottom maximum D, strain part under bottom maximum D. The shape and mean diameter of the cylinder in points A, B, C and D were measured and the same parameters of the piston in equivalent points. The effective area calculated from geometrical data is AG = 980.5297 mm2. The effective area got by cross-floating with a CMI classical rotating piston-cylinder unit is APG = 980.5271 mm2. The original DHI effective area is ADHI = 980.511 mm2. The results show very good agreement with CMI traceability to classical piston-cylinder unit. The DHI effective area is very close to the geometrical area of the piston only.
