Rydberg atoms in crossed magnetic and electric fields — •Javier Madroñero and Andreas Buchleitner — Max-Planck-Institut für Physik komplexer Systeme, Dresden
We report on numerically exact quantum calculations on alkali Rydberg atoms in crossed magnetic and electric fields, above the ionization threshold. Quantum spectra are obtained employing the complex rotation technique, used to extend the calculations into the continuum region, and R-matrix theory, to describe the effect of the atomic core on the dynamics of the highly excited electron along its Kepler orbit.
