Penning Traps used for high- precision mass [1] and g-factor measurements [2],[3] are usually designed with one of the two shapes: cylindrical or hyperbolical. The cylindrical one allows the analytical calculation of the electric potential, enabling the trap designer the fast computation of the best trap dimensions required for the experiment. The hyperbolical one has some advantages over the cylindrical, mainly its big volume of harmonicity. In this poster a novel trap design for high-precision experiments will be presented: the hybrid Penning trap, consisting of cylindrical endcaps and correction electrodes and an oval (hyperbolical or toroidal) ring. The Laplace equation within this trap is solved analytically and its main features are discussed. Its application to the future proton g-factor measurement [4] is presented. [1]H.-J.
