Films of bare CdSe nanocrystals or bare C60 molecules generally show only a weak photoconductance. This is increased by three orders of magnitude in the composite films. The wavelength resolved photoconductance spectra closely follow the optical absorption spectra of the CdSe nanocrystals, allowing the tuning of spectral sensitivity of the photoconductance by size of nanocrystals. The increased photoconductivity in the composite films can be explained by the injection of photoexcited charge carriers from the CdSe nanocrystals into the C60 molecules.
