Spacetime structures of continuous time quantum walks — •Oliver Mülken and Alexander Blumen — Institut für Physik, Universität Freiburg

The propagation by continous time quantum walks (CTQW) on one-dimensional (1d) lattices shows structures in the transition probabilities between different sites reminicient of quantum carpets. For a system with periodic and reflecting boundary conditions, we calculate the transition probabilities for a CTQW by diagonalizing the Hamiltonian and by Bloch function ansatz. Both results coincide.
