MuSTAnG - Muon Spaceweather Telescope for Anisotropies at Greifswald — •Frank Jansen — University of Greifswald, Germany

MuSTAnG - the Muon Spaceweather Telescope for Anisotropies at Greifswald will be constructed soon and will measure cosmic ray muons to predict the arrival time of interplanetary CMEs and shock waves. For the first time the position of interplanetary CMEs and shock waves will be delivered in real time by means of a European ground based space weather telescope. MuSTAnG becomes part of an international Japanese-Australian-European muon telescope network of space weather storm forecast and nowcast. The usage of MuSTAnG data for space weather service organisations will be sketched. The paper also describes the physical causes to receive space weather storm propagation and to deduce three-dimensional geometry of interplanetary CMEs by cosmic ray muon telescopes. In addition technical characteristics and data reduction of MuSTAnG will be described by the MuSTAnG consortium.
