Monte Carlo Study of the KM3NeT Sensitivity to the Astrophysical Sources of High Energy Neutrinos — •Rezo Shanidze, Gisela Anton, Jürgen Hössl, Alexander Kappes, Uli Katz, Sebastian Kuch, Rainer Ostasch, and Christoph Rembser — Physikalisches Institut, Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, Erwin-Rommel-Str. 1, 91058 Erlangen

The current experimental and theoretical research indicates that a neutrino telescope of cubic kilometer scale is necessary to detect a variety of astrophysical sources of high-energy neutrinos. KM3NeT is a project of a large-scale, next generation deep underwater neutrino telescope in the Mediterranean Sea. The sensitivity to the fluxes of high energy neutrinos of astrophysical origin have been studied for different configurations of KM3NeT detector with a help of Monte Carlo simulations. Preliminary results of the KM3NeT sensitivity to the diffuse flux of high energy neutrinos as well as to fluxes from point-like neutrino emission sources are presented.
