Modelling and comparison with experiment of radial profiles in a tokamak with magnetic field stochastization — •Xavier Loozen, D. Kalupin, M.Z. Tokar, O. Marchuk, M. Jakubowski, and R. Wolf — Institut für Plasmaphysik, Forschungszentrum Jülich GmbH, EURATOM-Association, Trilateral Euregio Cluster, D-52425 Jülich, Germany

A deliberate stochastization of the magnetic field in tokamaks with Ergodic Divertors (ED) modifies essentially the transport properties at the plasma edge by permitting a radial transfer of particles and heat along stochastic field lines and affecting anomalous transport perpendicular to them. The latter is determined by different kinds of micro-instabilities including drift Alfvén, drift resistive and drift resistive ballooning unstable modes.

A model for the effective transport coefficients in a stochastic magnetic field, taking into account both the anomalous nature of perpendicular transfer and parallel flows, is elaborated. Since this model needs anomalous transport coefficients, a model for anomalous transport is established, based on a quasi-linear fluid model for the micro-instabilities. These anomalous coefficients are compared with some others from the litterature.

This transport model is included into the 1.5D tranport code RITM for self-consistent calculations of the radial profiles of different plasma parameters. Computations for TEXTOR, with and without Dynamic Ergodic Divertor (DED) are presented, and the modifications of the plasma parameter profiles are discussed and compared with experimental data.
