Assessment of Emission Spectroscopy for the Reconstruction of the Electron Temperature — •Dirk Dodt1, Andreas Dinklage1, and Rainer Fischer21Max-Planck-Institut für Plasmaphysik, Teilinstitut Greifswald — 2Max-Planck-Institut für Plasmaphysik, Teilinstitut Garching

The line emission from the plasma in a neon glow discharge is investigated. Since electron collisions are the main excitation mechanism, the measured intensities of the spectral lines give information about the electron energy distribution function (EEDF).

In a first step, a stationary collisional-radiative model is used to fit the electron temperature to the measured line emissions. The fit is performed by means of Bayesian data analysis [1], which involves the description of the error statistics of all input parameters and measured quantities.
