Some experiments on sequential fitting of line profiles in crowded spectra — •Željko Andreić and Indramani Sharma — Institute of Matematics, Informatics and Drawing Geometry, Faculty of Mining, Geology and Petroleum Engineering, University of Zagreb, Pierottijeva 6, 10 000 Zagreb, Croatia

Experimental spectra of hot plasmas were decomposed to individual lines by sequential numerical fitting of individual profiles to the corresponding lines. The best fit criteria was the minimum sum of differences between the experimental spectrum and the spectrum calcuted by superposition of all profiles obtained by the fitting procedure. Results and tools for such procedures are presented and discussed, with a short comparison to parallel fitting procedures.
