I will give an overview on the Monte Carlo simulation of LHC events in general. For reliable signal and background determination it is highly desirable to be able to simulate events to full next–to–leading order (NLO) accuracy. I will review the matching of NLO computations to Monte Carlo event generators. Furthermore, I will address different approaches on how to achive this matching and give an overview on future work that will be done in conjuction with the new event generator Herwig++.
