Shell-type SNRs have long been considered to be the dominant accelerators of galactic cosmic rays. An important prediction within this conception is that shell-type SNRs would be sources of TeV gamma radiation. We present results from observations of shell-type SNRs during the first year of operation of the MAGIC telescope. We briefly describe the observational strategy, the procedure implemented for the data analysis, and discuss the results for individual sources in the perspective of multifrequency observations.
