Study of the observability of the Hbb decay in tt H associated production mode with the ATLAS detector using a multivariate discrimination method — •Sergey Kotov, Sandra Horvat, Nectarios Benekos, Oliver Kortner, Hubert Kroha, and Susanne Mohrdieck-Möck — Max-Planck-Institut für Physik, München

The Higgs boson in the low mass region near 120 GeV, which is favored by electroweak precision measurements, predominantly decays into bb-pair. Due to huge QCD backgrounds in the gluon fusion production mode, this Higgs decay can only be triggered and reconstructed in the associated production mode of the Higgs boson with tt-pair. In this analysis a multivariate discrimination method is used to study the observability of the Hbb decay in tt H production mode in the ATLAS detector with full Monte Carlo simulation of the signal and main backgrounds.
