Experiences in running a CMS Tier-2 at Desy Hamburg — •Christoph Rosemann1, Joachim Mnich1, Michael Ernst1, Volker Gülzow1, Alexander Floßdorf1, Benedikt Hegner1, Markus Duda2, and Klaus Rabbertz31Desy Hamburg — 2RWTH Aachen — 3IEKP Karlsruhe

The Large Hadron Collider Computing Grid (LCG) foresees a hierachical structure of computing centers, called Tiers. Each type of center consists of a set of services on top of a computing infrastructure. CERN IT will provide the unique Tier-0 with equally unique services. For CMS in germany exists the GridKa in Karlsruhe as Tier-1 and a No-dqfederatedNo-dq Tier-2 which is distributed between Desy Hamburg and RWTH Aachen.

Desy provides both user analysis and Monte Carlo production while Aachen focuses on the Monte Carlo production. Besides the tier structure the different CMS-specific components which are needed to run the Tier-2 functionality at Desy are described. Main topics of the talk are the experiences in running one of the few No-dqearlyNo-dq Tier-2s in CMS.
