High Precision 14C AMS: There are ways it can work and ways it can go wrong — •Marie-Josee Nadeau and Anke Rieck — Leibniz-Labor, Max-Eyth Str. 11, 2418 Kiel, Germany
In the recent years, many authors have discuss high precision 14C AMS. Although it can be achieved in many cases, unexpected system and sample limitations can easily increase the measurement uncertainty. We will discuss several parameters influencing the stability of 14C AMS measurements from system design and alignment to philosophy of operation. We will also compare the results and behaviour of different system designs and their prefered use.
