The transport of foam model systems in consolidated porous media was studied using anodically bonded silicon/glass micromodels. Foam systems included conventional detergent foams but also visco-elastic surfactant (VES) based foams. Different micromodel flow patterns were investigated, ranging from capillary channel networks to thin section projections at 1:1 scale. In particular the efficacy of non-aqueous phase (NAPL) removal was studied.
