Differential structures and quantum gravity — •Torsten Asselmeyer-Maluga und Helge Rose — FhG FIRST, Kekulestr. 7, 12489 Berlin

As shown in gr-qc/0511089, the algebra of fermionic field operators is related to the infinite number of different differential structures on a topologically fixed 4-manifold. This algebra, also known as Temperley-Lieb algebra, can be geometrically constructed by using self-intersecting manifolds and linked curves. The description of differential structures via a special class of bundles, the so-called virtual flat bundles, and by the geometric structures on 3-manifolds leads to a dynamical theory. The relation to Loop quantum gravity is discussed.
