Investigation of the scalar resonances at COSY — •Alexey Dzyuba — Petersburg Nuclear Physics Institute, Gatchina, Russia
The production of the light scalar resonances a0(980) and f0(980) in hadronic interactionis has been investigated with the ANKE spectrometer, where their strange decays into KK can be observed. Final goal of these studies, which will be later supplemented by measurements of the non-strange decays with the WASA detector, is to learn about the nature of these states, about isospin violating processes in the a0/f0 system and FSI effects between antikaons and light nuclei.
In this talk final results of the data analysis for the reaction pp→ dK+K^0, measured at excess energies 46 and 105 GeV, will be presented. Total cross-sections, invariant-mass and angular distributions will be shown, interpreted in terms of scalar-isovector KK production and compared with theoretical predictions.
As a next step, a measurement of isoscalar KK production, utilizing the isospin selective dd→ α K+K− reaction, is foreseen in April 2006 at ANKE.
