Compton backscattering as a mean of measuring beam energy — •Michele Viti — Institut fuer Hochenergiephysik Zeuthen

At the ILC it is planned to perform precise measurements of particle masses. This implies to measure the beam energy upstream the interaction point with high accuracy (10−4) in order to acheive the precision required. The Compton Backscattering looks as a very good candidate for this and we are studying its implementation in some details. In this talk it will be shown the basic idea and basic layout of the apparatus and the present status of our studies.
