The ATLAS WatchMan: An automatized continuos search for data deviations. — •Riccardo-Maria Bianchi, Sascha Caron, and Gregor Herten — Physikalisches Intitut, Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg

The ATLAS experiment is under installation at CERN. In 2008 the LHC accelerator will be switched on and ATLAS will enter in the data taking phase. ATLAS will produce a huge amount of data. Raw data are collected from detectors to build events, and reconstructed data are stored in containers called Analysis Object Data (AOD). From those, smaller data structures suitable for analysis are derived. The idea presented here is to automatize a continuos search for deviations in data. These deviations could be caused by software bugs, Monte Carlo problems, detector misunderstanding or, of course, new physics. Before having real data such an approach is useful to validate the software. The idea, the working plan and first results are presented here.
