Experimental band structure of V2O5 by angle resolved photoelectron spectroscopy — •Torsten Stemmler, Maximilian Kauert, Helmut Dwelk, and Recardo Manzke — Institut für Physik, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Newtonstr. 15, 12489 Berlin

Due to the manifold of catalytic applications, the vanadium oxides, and among them V2O5, came into the scientific focus. For a basic understanding a detailed knowledge of the electronic structure is important. In particulare because the experimental data base on the electronic valence band structure on V2O5(010) single crystals is very scarce. Here we present high-resolution angle-resolved photoemission experiments carried out with synchrotron radiation and with the light of a HeI resonance lamp. The results will be compared with theoretical calculations,e.g. from J.C.Parker et al.[1] and A.Chakrabarti et al.[2]. Furthermore the problem of degradation of the surface due to the high reactivity will be discussed.
