Properties of neutron-rich Ni isotopes investigated at LAND — •Tudi Le Bleis for the R3B collaboration — GSI Darmstadt — IPHC Strasbourg

A kinematical complete measurement of reactions with relativistic beams of unstable ⁶⁸⁻⁷²Ni isotopes has been performed at the LAND reaction setup at GSI. Different targets (C, CH₂, Pb) have been measured in order to investigate different types of reactions including heavy-ion induced electromagnetic excitation, nuclear neutron removal reactions, as well as quasi-free knockout reactions. From the differential cross section for electromagnetic excitation the dipole-strength distribution in the continuum is extracted in order to explore the low-lying pygmy dipole mode. The shell-structure of the neutron-rich Ni isotopes around the semi-magic ⁶⁸Ni is studied using nucleon-removal reactions. A first attempt has been undertaken to measure (p,2p) knockout reactions using a CH₂ target. Selected first results will be presented.
