Computing in ATLAS is organized in so-called Tier-1 clouds. The Tier-1 provides crucial services for DDM and production, which had been developed and extensively tested in the last years. A further key activity of a Tier-1 is data reprocessing which requires bulk reading of RAW data from tape. It is an I/O intensive activity. Thus an efficient performance of the tape system I/O is very important. Tape reading tests have been done with an aim of optimizing the system. The talk presents the result of the progress made and the current status in line with the expected performance. Also an overview of the current status and progress in the other areas will be given.
