The prospects for searches of a SM Higgs boson in the H → WW → llνν decay mode are presented, including estimation of systematic uncertainties. Several data-driven methods of background estimation in the signal region are used, with a focus on the statistical formalism for extraction of exclusion limits and calculation of signal significance.
