Any storage system has to be tuned for optimization of performance. Since the number of possible setups of GRID clusters is, basically, not limited, there is no single recipe on how to install such a cluster. The idea behind dCache was to create a single interface to storage systems such as RAIDs and/or tapes. As such it is flexible enough to provide sets of tunable variables which impact the overall performance of the system. This talk concerns a prototype cluster using which one can adjust the parameters and measure the performance of dCache-based storage system.
