Charge Transport Investigations of P3HT:PCPM Bulk Heterojunction Solar Cells using the CELIV Method — •Ralph Huber, Antonietta De Sio, Elizabeth von Hauff, and Jürgen Parisi — University of Oldenburg, Department of Physics, Energy and Semiconductor Research Laboratory, Carl-von-Ossietzky Str. 9-11, 26129 Oldenburg, Germany

The performance of organic solar cells is strongly influenced by the charge transport properties of the active layer. In this study we employed the charge extraction by linearly increasing voltage (CELIV) method to investigate charge carrier mobilities in blends of regioregular poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) and [6,6]-phenyl-C61-butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM). The CELIV method allows for mobility measurements on the solar cell device directly. The field dependence of the charge carrier mobility and the conductivity of P3HT:PCBM blends was investigated. The CELIV results are presented along with the results from the solar cells.
