The ZEPLIN Dark Matter Search: Two phase xenon as a WIMP target — •Markus Horn — Imperial College, London, GB

The ZEPLIN dark matter search programme has been using liquid xenon as a target for WIMP searches since the late 1990s. ZEPLIN-III has utilised the two-phase technique, measuring both scintillation and ionisation from interactions in the target, to set world-class limits on both spin-independent and spin-dependent WIMP-nucleon scattering cross sections. First results from the second science run of the upgraded ZEPLIN-III experiment will be presented along with a discussion of scintillation and ionisation yields of liquid xenon for low energy nuclear recoils. An update will then be given on the status of the experiment.
