Theoretical predictions for Higgs production and decay at the LHC — •Ansgar Denner — Institut für Theoretische Physik und Astrophysik, Universität Würzburg

The Standard Model of particle physics provides a successful description of the physics of elementary particles and their interactions. The mechanism of electroweak symmetry breaking as implemented in the Standard Model predicts the existence of a scalar massive particle, the Higgs boson. It is one of the primary tasks of the LHC to search for this particle and to provide measurements of its mass and couplings. In the past years a significant amount of work has been performed in providing accurate predictions for Higgs-boson production and decay processes at hadron colliders and in pinning down the theoretical uncertainties of the Standard Model predictions. In this talk I summarize the status of these predictions.
