Study of the Z boson production and search for the neutral supersymmetric Higgs bosons, in the decay channel Z(H/A)→ µµνννν with the first LHC data collected with the CMS detector. — •Agni Bethani, Alexei Raspereza, and Roberval Walsh — DESY, Hamburg

The CMS Experiment is one of the two large Experiments at the LHC designed for the exploration of the Electroweak Symmetry Breaking mechanism and the search for new physics.

For neutral Higgs Bosons of the Minimal Supersymmetric Extension of the Standard Model (MSSM), the decay channel into a pair of tau-leptons is the most promising. The study of the Z boson production, presented here, serves for the commissioning of the analysis, searching for Higgs bosons decaying into a pair of tau-leptons. The study is performed in the decay channel Z→ττ→µµνννν using first LHC data recorded with the CMS detector at the center-of-mass energy 7 TeV. The cross section of the Z boson production in proton-proton collisions is measured, allowing for estimation of the Z→ττ background contribution for the MSSM Higgs boson searches. The analysis is then performed on data to search for the neutral MSSM Higgs bosons decaying into a pair of tau-leptons. The search found no signal, resulting in an upper limit on the MSSM parameter tanβ as a function of the mass of the neutral CP-odd Higgs boson A.
