Validation studies with a Particle Flow reconstruction algorithm for ILC — •Sergey Morozov — DESY/University of Hamburg

To fulfill the physics program demands for International Linear Collider (ILC) the CALICE collaboration has constructed a highly granular analog hadron calorimeter prototype (AHCAL) based on scintillator tiles with individual silicon photo-multiplier (SiPM) read out. This detector provides very fine 3D images of showers which are used to study hadronic shower models in simulation codes. The high granularity also opens up the possibility for significant improvements in the energy resolution achieved with energy density weighting methods. The CALICE data collected at testbeams in CERN and FNAL will serve to validate the concept of Particle Flow reconstruction algorithm (PFA) as an innovative method to achieve an ultimate jet energy resolution. An overview of the Particle Flow studies validation will be given. The predictions of various physics models are compared. The first steps of model validation with data are shown.
