Integration of USBpix system in the EUDET Telescope — •Vladyslav Libov — Notkestrasse 85, 22607 Hamburg, Germany

An upgrade of ATLAS Pixel detector around 2016 implies the insertion of one additional pixel layer between the existing Pixel Detector and the beam pipe. One of three pixel technologies (Planar Pixel, 3D, Diamond) will be chosen depending on the results of test beams which will be held in 2011 at the DESY electron beam and at CERN SPS hadron beam, both times using the EUDET Pixel Telescope.

The sensors will be read out with next generation front-end chip, namely the FE-I4. The DAQ software and hardware which were commonly used for test beam measurements is not suitable for the FE-I4 anymore. Instead, the light-weight DAQ system USBpix was developed, one of the purposes being to allow laboratory tests and testbeam measurements with latest front-end chip.

This work reports an integration of the USBpix system in the EUDET Telescope on DAQ software level. It allows the usage of USBpix for test beam measurements with the telescope. Data from different hardware parts are combined into one stream before writing to disk which simplifies greatly offline analysis and allows EUTelescope analysis framework to be used. The system was tested during the first IBL testbeam at CERN SPS in October 2010 with the previous FE-I3. In this report the technical integration will be described. Some results from offline analysis of collected data are presented. It is shown that they agree with those collected using common FE-I3 testbeam DAQ system.
