We developed a simulation framework based on CORSIKA with the aim of deriving systematic uncertainties by variation of the primary cosmic ray composition, the atmospheric profile and the high energy interaction model. The recent study shows variations on the secondary spectra at the location of the IceCube Detector at the south pole. The the primary spectrum has been modeled according to the Poly-Gonato (Hörandel) model with refined parameters resulting from a fit to recent PAMELA, ATIC and CREAM data. The primary energy range starts at 600 GeV/nucleon and reaches 1E11 GeV/nucleon. Four different atmospheric models for the south pole are simulated as well. The full data set is in addition binned in the zenith angle and it is processed independently for two different high-energy hadronic interaction models (SYBILL 2.1, QGSJET01c). Although extension options are included in the framework which allow for an exchange of the interaction model to more recent versions as soon as they are available. The updated versions will include the production of charmed mesons and thus facilitate the simulation the prompt component of the atmospheric neutrino and muon flux.
