Development of Front-End Electronics for Silicon-Strip Detectors at FAIR — •Matthias Holl1, Joachim Enders1, and Haik Simon21Insitut für Kernphysik, Technische Universität Darmstadt — 2GSI-Helmholtzzentrum für Schwerionenforschung, Darmstadt

The current status of the development of front-end electronics for the silicon demonstrator for the EXL and R3B experiments at FAIR is presented. The system consists of a front-end board housing a combination of readout- and triggering ASICs, an ADC sampling the data and an FPGA configured to control the acquisition. The goal is to obtain a efficient and fast readout while having a power consumption low enough to run the system in ultra-high vacuum and a large dynamic range from about 100 keV to a few MeV energy loss. The general design of the electronics is introduced and the results of first tests are presented.
Supported by the state of Hesse through the LOEWE center HIC for FAIR, and through the GSI-TU Darmstadt cooperation contract.
