Search for top flavor violating resonances in ttbar + jet events with ATLAS — •Chris Malena Delitzsch, Kevin Kröninger, and Arnulf Quadt — Georg-August-Universität Göttingen, Germany

The top quark has a mass close to the scale of electroweak symmetry breaking and plays therefore an important role in searches for physics beyond the Standard Model. Top flavor violating particles could explain the forward-backward asymmetry recently measured at the TeVatron. In this analysis, a search for a new top flavor violating heavy particle W’ in association with a top quark is performed. Depending on the color charge of the new particle, the particle decays in a top or antitop quark and a light flavor jet. A framework for the search for resonances in ttbar + jet events in context of the ATLAS experiment is presented.
